Hello & Welcome...I’m President of the Speak Up Empowerment Foundation, Inc.; and Author of the “Ms. Single Mom – Yes, You Can!” book (a self help guide written to assist our parenting teens and younger adults with common sense strategies that can develop effective parenting skills to save time & money).

The Speak Up Empowerment Foundation, Inc. 501 (c) (3) non profit organization provides resource connections, growth based training, and support for single parent families based in Greater Long Beach, Los Angeles and surrounding areas. We promote “empowered parenting” skills and abundant educational quality.
I, with input from the advisory governing members, provide the organization with dedicated and diverse leadership.
I completed my B.A. at UC San Diego’s Revelle College; and attended MBA courses at Keller University and University of Phoenix. A divorced mother of three, my career background includes K-12 teacher, business programmer analyst, systems analyst, senior business systems analyst, corporate trainer, corporate executive, and published author.
I bring more than 25 years of experience on subjects ranging from parenting and personal enrichment to corporate business development. I've been featured on television and radio public service announcements, and several daytime talk shows. I worked as a freelance journalist for more than fifteen years and had the opportunity to meet a plethora of interesting people.
I'm frequently involved in community, civic and corporate affiliations that encourage success - and purposely empower the underserved to succeed. I currently serve as a City of Long Beach Equity & Human Relations Commissioner, member of the Long Beach Black Health Equity Collaborative, and have served multiple terms on the LA Urban League Board of Directors, the Black Business Association Advisory Board, UCSD Black Alumni Scholarship Council, and the National Alliance of African American Athletes-Los Angeles Chapter Planning Committee.
I am a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., a national public service organization that’s synonymous with the success and empowerment of women!
And, I sincerely look forward to meeting and working with you and your company very soon!
Best Regards,
Commissioner Robbie N. Butler, President
